Terms of Service

An enquiry is not a booking. We reply personally, confirm availability, and only then propose dates in writing. A stay is confirmed when we have written confirmation and the agreed deposit.

Rates are quoted per stay in the confirmation, in Colombian pesos or United States dollars, and include the taxes stated there. A deposit of thirty percent secures the dates; the balance is due on arrival unless we agree otherwise.

Cancel more than fourteen days before arrival and the deposit is refunded in full.

Cancel between fourteen and seven days before arrival and half the deposit is refunded.

Cancel within seven days of arrival, arrive later, or leave earlier, and the deposit is not refunded. We will always try to move your dates instead, once, within twelve months.

Rivers rise, roads close, weather turns. If we cannot receive you for reasons of force majeure we will offer new dates or return what you have paid. We are not liable for costs beyond that, including flights.

The retreat is adults-only, and suites hold two guests. Cold water, heat, trails, and river swimming carry ordinary risk; you take part at your own discretion and should tell us of any condition that matters. Guided excursions are operated by licensed local partners. Please treat the house, the river, and the Sierra with the care they are owed.

Our liability is limited to the amount paid for your stay, except where Colombian law does not allow such a limit. These terms are governed by the laws of Colombia, with the courts of Santa Marta, Magdalena, competent. Questions: reservations@riocaracoli.com.
